2019: Book #23

I just completed reading Sick of Me: From Transparency to Transformation by Whitney Capps. It may be the best book I’ve read this year. What a book!  I needed it.

Here’s one quote, “Suffering reveals something about God to the world.”

The book reveals that God is trustworthy. Without suffering, without struggle…we’d never know that Jesus can be trusted…that He’s faithful…that He’s sweeter than the pain we’re experiencing. Without suffering, how would we know He’s stronger than the storms we experience? That feeds my soul. That draws me closer to Jesus and helps me to be less focused on me. If I were you, I’d go to Amazon and buy her book today.

I was so impressed with Capps’ book that I’ve asked her to speak at PAR’s Vision Week in January 2020. It’s that good! Get her book. Read it. Consume it. Ponder it. Live it.

This is truly a 5 out of 5 stars book.

That’s book #23 for 2019.
